Inspired by the images of women carelessly wondering around the beaches of St. Tropez, Nicole Richie is at it again with her Summer 2012 collection for House of Harlow. Her designs are created out of ebony and ivory; throughout Richie’s collection, you’ll see a reoccurring theme of a tusk and horn, she does a magnificent job in keeping each piece unique. Nicole says that the pieces she creates are for the woman who is isn’t afraid to take a risk and believes that what makes House of Harlow stand out in the jewelry world is the fact that all of the pieces are very wearable. They have a really cool tribal feel to them, so the jewelry comes across as fashionable, artistic, and can be worn everyday thanks to their affordability.
The Nicole on “The Simple Life”, was very fun and adventurous, she kept us all captivated with her witty personality and was an early adapter to the business of reality TV. It’s nice to see her business savvy pay off in the jewelry arena as well. Though her clothes were tight fitting and looked more like club wear than everyday then, she evolved into a fashion and style icon that has redefined her career. From infamous to successful businesswoman known for her hard work and talents—KUDOS. Her life may not be so simple anymore…but we’ll gladly take the complexity. Check out House of Harlow here.
The mornings were blazing hot, the nights were shivering cold, but the celeb style at Coachella was just plain cool. With the lingering nostalgia of the spring music festival still in the air, POSHGLAM brings you a recap of the Coachella celebrity style radar. Most of these stars nailed the Coachella look, while others failed it.
Victoria’s Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio looked casually gorgeous wearing a creme Rebecca Taylor sundress with brown boots. She accessorized with her arm candy, Jamie Mazur and cooled off with O.N.E. Coconut Water.
Katy Perry looked like an elephant hippie princess (remember Barbar?) in her ankle-length Dolce & Gabbana lace sundress with polka dot headdress tied in a bow. She matched the look with a yellow crossbody hobo and gold gladiator sandals. Such a flawless look.
The queen of boho-chic, Nicole Richie, attended the Mulberry party at Coachella wearing Mulberry Annie Blouse in Pumpkin Feathered Friends with denim shorts and the Heritage Bayswater Satchel in Pheasant Green.
Kirsten Dunst attended the Lacoste L!ve Pool Party on the last day of Coachella wearing Ray Ban sunglasses, a casual black blouse and denim shorts. As usual, Dunst looked plain, but we love her Ralph Lauren Collection calfskin crossbody bag in tan. She posed with Alexander Skarsgard, who attended the festival with his girlfriend Kate Bosworth. Dunst’s bag is a perfect catch all for all the music festival essentials, and is compact enough as to not get in the way.
Jessica Szohr looked not-so-gorgeous in an Express cropped jumpsuit, black hat and oversized MJ black handbag. OK, so the picture was snapped at an awful angle and she was the unsuspecting victim of the photographer, but she wore way too much black for a spring music festival. The jumpsuit is a nice jumpsuit, but Szohr should have added some color and prints to the mix. A colorful purse (Circa 2011) and hair accessory (i.e. pony tail holder) would have done the trick. A smaller bag would have lightened the look, she looks like she is trudging her carry-on through the airport. Is she missing a fingernail? One of her nails is white, while the rest are ruby red. Let’s try it again next year, Jessica.
Apparently Whit Port and Ken broke up, she typically looks adorable, however her Coachella getup, screams “IT’s OVER”. Whitney is usually classy, with “usually” and “classy” competing for the operative word. She wore a pair of Express floral shorts with a white top and oversized grey shirt tied on the side TOTALLY 80s style, all she needed was a neon scrunchie. She could have done without the grey shirt and uh, I just broke up with my beau attitude. It was a little too 90s and sloppy, it hung off her body, like she was courting anorexia and she paired it with olive boots. Expensive sandals would have added a high-class flirt to the otherwise uber feminine touch, or a pair of nude oxfords to upgrade the oh so cheap, chic.
This is only the start of music festival season, so hopefully those that were falling behind step up their game. Next stop: Bonnaroo.
Hunter Boots have become the go-to rain boots, even when it’s not actually raining. The famous “it” wellies have become synonymous with cool and have been spotted on almost every celebrity-from Kate Moss, who famously wore them with barely there shorts and a waistcoat to the Glastonbury festival back in 2005 to Nicole Richie who has been seen with them more than without this past winter.
As of recent, these urban-styled rain-boots have expanded from a classic wellie into a full lifeststyle brand. No longer just a fisherman’s boot, Hunters are now available in a full-range of colors including bubble-gum pink, bright red, and yellow. Hunters also come in a variety of lengths and now boast a model that includes heels and all that jazz.
The original rubber booties recently upped their fashion status when they teamed up with high-end shoe label, Jimmy Choo to collaborate on a special edition rubber boot that looked more luxe than practical. The sophisticated croc-embossed boot was also as expensive as it looked, retailing at $400. Now, the 155-year-old Scottish brand is further building on their success by launching an outerwear line.
According to WWD, Wendy Svarre, chief executive officer of Hunter Boot USA has issued a statement, “”Outerwear was really a natural extension with the DNA of our brand. We are known for the outdoors and high-performance footwear. It just took a while to find the right factories in Asia.”
Hunter Boots USA new collection include a trench with a trendy zip-out red lining, a fur trimmed-hooded white parka and an A-line wool peacoat. The outerwear collection will be released sometime in July. And if their foot-wear line success is indicative of the brand’s staying-power, then we will all be wearing the latest trenches come next fall.

Winter is coming this Spring! Nicole Richie just finished shooting the lookbook for her Winter Kate Spring 2011 Collection. The collection has the bohemian style Nicole Richie is known for, but this collection slightly differs as it has some traces of 60s and 70s Hollywood glamour. This high-waisted skirts and shorts barely skimming the tops of the legs, short floral frocks and bell sleeves. The photos embody this theme with a vintage look. The colors of the film is a muted plum hue with a textured canvas. Nicole Richie employed a familiar face to model the elegant, yet wearable collection - Nicole Fox, the stunning redhead who was crowned “America’s Next Top Model” in a previous season.
It’s no wonder we love Winter Kate so much! It mimics Nicole Richie’s impeccable style. She is, after-all, the face of boho-chic.
